The Artist
Julio Vargas was born in a little town in the Colombian Caribbean Coast called Fundación, Magdalena back in 1959. Throughout his life he has traveled all around the world and has gathered inspiration for his art from the different countries and cultures that he has experienced. In particular, the three areas that have impacted him the most are Colombia, his hometown, Romania where he attended medical school and Brazil where he lived for several years. Art started out as a hobby given that his main career is as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist. However, throughout the years, his art became his passion rather than just an amusement.
He began as a self-taught artist, making his first works based on the photographs he captured with his camera. His paintings reflect beautiful images of landscapes, animal diversity, flowers, and the simplicity of daily life in the country.
Julio Vargas has exhibited his art in three shows in Colombia, one in Bucaramanga, Giron and Floridablanca.
One of the most notable things about his art is his talent and ability to blend colors to create vibrant yet harmonious works of art. His artistic profile is diverse and ever changing. He has works of impressionism, realism, replicas, romanticism, abstract expressionism, portraits, and landscape art. He has paintings in oil, watercolor, acrylic, and pastels. His goal is to continue to evolve and share natural beauty through his brush.
